Worship

Worship is at the heart of all we do!

St Ninian’s Church is OPEN.  Join us at 11am on Sundays at St Ninian’s Church, 10 Vicars Road, Stonehouse ML9 3EB. We sing, pray and learn from the Bible together, led by our minister, Stewart Cutler, and our two local worship leaders, Anne Thomson and Yvonne Hamilton.

We also offer worship online with a weekly service is available in a number of places on video and podcast, and even by telephone in formats to suit everyone.

You can find us a 10 Vicars Road, Stonehouse. ML9 3EB.  It’s just a short walk from the main road through Stonehouse.

We have plenty of parking at St Ninian’s and if the carpark is full you can park on Vicars Road, but please be respectful of our neighbours.

The front door of the church has 3 steps up with handrails.  There is a ramp giving access to those using wheelchairs of with mobility issues on the right of the church.  At the moment the only accessible toilets are in the hall (we have plans to change that!).  There is no ramp access between the church and hall.

The hall has flat access.

We stand if we are able to sing and sit for everything else.  Our service is relaxed and as well as singing will include times of prayer, readings from the Bible and a talk about what that means for us today.

Whatever you are comfortable in! Most people wear their usual clothes, while you will also see some suits and dresses.  Whatever works for you is fine with us.

Wherever you want!  There are pews (we have plans to change that!) and some more comfortable seats on the right of the church towards the front. These can be moved so they are good if you have a baby in a pram or buggy.  There are 4 spots for wheelchairs as well as this seated area.

We have a brilliant Sunday School for children of primary school age and a creche for pre-schoolers.  These take place in the halls at the same time as church. Children are always welcome to stay in church!

All our volunteers are members of the PVG Scheme and have undergone our safer recruitment procedures.

We have a light lunch available every Sunday after the service and you are very welcome to join us!

At 9:30am on Tuesday and Thursday we have a short service where we talk about our reading for the day and pray for our community and the world.  We now meet using zoom on Tuesday and meet in the church on Thursday.  Contact our minister, Stewart, for more information.

We have a range of other worship times including at Canderavon and Avonhaugh, our local care homes, and at McLean Gardens and Lintaugh Gardens, both sheltered housing complexes.

Festivals and Civic Events

Christian festivals and civic events are also important to us. Easter, Christmas and Remembrance are particular highlights of our worship year where we are joined by members of our community for a host of special services.
